Victorian Slate Brewery Trade Sign
A wonderful hand carved slate tablet trade sign. c.1860
Presumably used in a public house serving beverages produced by the Barclay Perkins & Co brewery. Would once have had a piece of reverse painted plate glass to the front, hand carved and gilt lettering. Obvious signs of historic repaired damage, but a rare survivor and a superb decorative piece. It reads 'BARCLAY PERKINS & Co.'s THREE GUINEA STOUT'
